Skyby passively identifies the aircraft passing overhead: airliners, private planes, helicopters, and more. Open it and it shows you what is above you, the airline or operator and aircraft type, with no searching or tapping. Set it on your desk or glance at it when you hear a jet, and it's already there.
Yes. Skyby identifies everything that broadcasts its position: airliners, private planes, business jets, and helicopters, each shown with its type and operator. Airliners include the route; general aviation and helicopters show the aircraft type. You'll even catch the occasional military transport, a warbird at an airshow, or a blimp drifting past. If you would rather keep it to the airlines, flip on Commercial Only in settings.
Skyby covers the United States, Canada, the UK, and Europe, with more regions on the way. If you're outside the coverage area, the app may not show traffic near you yet.
Usually nothing is wrong — the skies near you may just be quiet at the moment. A few things to try:
Make sure Skyby has permission to use your location, or drop your pin manually. Open the Location menu and move your pin toward a nearby airport to see more traffic. Widen your catch radius or altitude range in the Location settings. And give it a little time — traffic comes and goes.
Tap the menu (top right) and open Location. You can use your current location, drop a pin anywhere in the coverage area to watch the skies over home while you're away, or set the pin to live so Skyby follows you as you move. You can also adjust your catch radius and altitude range there.
Skyby Pro unlocks real aircraft photos on every catch, custom alerts for the flights you care about, the full catch-radius slider, an extended logbook with stats and search, and the ability to bookmark your favorite catches. Skyby is supported entirely by these subscriptions — no ads, ever.
First, try Restore Purchases in the app's settings — this re-syncs your subscription from your Apple account. If your Pro features still don't appear, email us at support@skyby.app and include the device ID from the app's About screen, and we'll sort it out.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your device, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Skyby, and you can change or cancel there. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Sign in to the same Apple account you used to purchase, open Skyby, and your Pro status should return automatically. If it doesn't, use Restore Purchases in settings. Still stuck? Email support@skyby.app.
Your location is used in real time to find the aircraft flying above you. That's the whole point of the app. We don't store your GPS coordinates or build any profile from them. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
Yes, please do — it genuinely helps. Email support@skyby.app with a screenshot of what you saw and we'll get it corrected. Aircraft data comes from live sources and occasionally has gaps, and reports like yours are how we fill them.
Email us at support@skyby.app with the device ID found in the app's About screen, and we'll delete your catch data within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details on your rights.
